GOOD NEWS; NOT SO GOOD NEWS FOR THE VIKING AEGIR!

Good news!  We woke up this morning to yet another picture perfect day in Budapest!  But that meant NO RAIN which meant that we had to travel by bus to Komarno before boarding the Viking Aegir, due to low water in the Danube! Not so good news!

We enjoyed a leisurely morning walk down by the river and

a delightful breakfast with Jan and Joe before meeting back in the lobby with all of our stuff!  We bid a fond adieu to the Intercontinental,

and gathered at the Viking dock to wait for our bus to arrive.

Across the river from us was Cave Church!  This was a view we didn’t get yesterday!  The church is on the left; the monastery on the right!  Amazing!

We boarded the Viking bus and enjoyed the hour and a half drive to Komarom where at least six Viking longboats were docked! (And not much else was around!)

We made it on the boat, followed by our luggage, and enjoyed lunch with Jan and Joe in the Aquavit.  Back in our teeny tiny room, we unpacked and found space for everything! It may be teeny but it is well layed out!   John and I meandered to the top deck to enjoy the sunshine, relax and read!

We gathered with everyone in the lounge to enjoy a drink while listening to our Program Director, Mario.  He walked us through safety guidelines as well as activities for the week.  We are ready to ROLL!  Viking personnel are taking it day by day to determine water levels and if it will be a go to actually sail!.  But we aren’t scheduled to sail until tomorrow night as we have a full day back in Budapest tomorrow!

We grabbed one of four tables in the Aquavit and ate every single morsel of food.  It was really, really good!

It was a relaxing day on board the Viking Aegis!  But it was early to bed as we have an early morning start time!  Good night all!  We miss you, Steve and Mary!
